Asia Argento and Ashton Whitty
Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress born in Berkeley on October 1, 1995. She is most famous as an actor, having appeared on screen in Choices (2011), The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2004) and Chrissie Mair's Content House.
Asia Argento is an Italian actress and filmmaker who came from the largest family with both. She's taken on these two fields of work for herself. In 1985 she made her acting debut in the film of Sergio Citti, Sogni e bisogni. She played the lead as Cristina Comencini in her first film Zoo which was released in 1988. Michele Soavi directed The Church 1989. In 1989, she played Nanni Moretti's (also directed by Michele Soavi) daughter in Red Wood Pigeon. Close Friends (1992), written and directed by Michele Placido was the film that really launched Asia's professional career. It was her first time moving from roles of a young girl to more mature and complicated roles. The film received a great reception during the Cannes International Film Festival. The Phantom of the Opera was her third film together with the father of her. Trauma and The Stendhal Syndrome were her previous two. The Phantom of the Opera is the third film she has acted in with her Father, the first two films being Trauma & The Stendhal Syndrome. Asia's absorbed and intense approach to acting has also been used in the film by Giuseppe Piccioni in Condannato a nozze. In addition, she had a prominent part in the international cast of Queen Margot which was directed by Patrice Chereau. In 1995, her collaboration together with Michel Piccoli, in Peter Del Monte's Traveling Companion won her yet another award, this time the David di Donatello and Grolla di Oro. Asia began directing in 1994 when she made two short films: Prospettive (1996), documentary about her father and her mother, as well as Abel/Asia (1998) Abel/Asia, a feature about cult film maker Abel Ferrara. The latter was awarded an award at the Rome Film Festival. In 1999 Asia was the first to direct a feature film by directing Scarlet Diva (2000), where she acted as the lead actress as well as the writer for the script. The film came out in May 2000 in Italy and the rest of the world. In Brooklyn, New York it received an award from the Williamsburg film festival. Anna Lou was born in 2001, after having directed a few music videos. In 2002, she appeared in The Red Siren by Olivier Megaton along with Jean-Marc Barr, and in the action thriller directed in the film by Rob Cohen, with Vin Diesel. Asia can also be the writer of a number of short stories published in many high-end magazines.
